Rainier Valley Leadership Academy

The Rainier Valley Leadership Academy redeveloped a site on Rainier Avenue South for a new middle school serving the Hillman City neighborhood. The three-story, 43,000-square-foot school serves 600 students in grades six through eight. Miller Hayashi lead the design of the new school building and site improvements including outdoor play courts, bus loading, parent drop off, parking, stormwater infrastructure, and new site utilities.  Miller Hayashi coordinated with the selected General Contractor during the pre-construction services phase to focus on ongoing value analysis.  The design process included the City of Seattle’s community review process for public schools and community outreach presentations.
