Seattle University Department of Public Safety

Accessible, safe, and welcoming public safety facilities fitted into a landmarked building.

Seattle University relocated the Department of Public Safety to the basement level of the landmarked Art Deco-era Columbia Building. The build-out provides expanded space for campus public safety operations with 30 employees and 10 student assistants.

The project includes private and open offices, a student business office, locker and shower facilities for patrol officers, training and meeting spaces, the campus Emergency Operations Center, a break room, a dedicated campus-wide dispatch center, HVAC modernization, extensive communications and audio/visual equipment coordination, and an emergency generator backup system.
