The Daniel Bagley Elementary School Modernization & Addition project obtained TCO on July 31 with final completion anticipated at the end of August. The landmark Seattle elementary school, constructed in 1930, has been modernized throughout. Classrooms, administrative space, and the student dining hall have been renovated with new finishes and technology updates. The former outdoor play courts and gym have been repurposed as light-filled spaces for art and music classrooms and the school library. The two-story addition provides eight new classrooms along with shared learning space at each level shaped around an existing Incense Cedar tree original to the school site. A new full-sized gymnasium has also been added for school and community use. Miller Hayashi looks forward to celebrating the school’s completion with a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony in September.
